To Write You Have To Start.

To Write You Have To Start.

Hi, folks. Well, I’m here again to try and regain my long lost blogging mojo. I figure I’ll just start writing and see where it goes.

Once upon a time, there was a wee little real estate broker, Broker Bryant. He was incredibly good looking and very humble. For years he was a shining light in the blogging world. His light was only outshined by his enormous ego.

Broker Bryant was putting out the “World’s Best” real estate articles at a rate of 20-30 articles a month. Then nothing. For several years. The hamster had fallen off the wheel. THE END

Or is it………...

When I was a prolific writer a major amount of my business came from Active Rain. Writing, posting and participating on Active Rain, I found, was very relaxing and it gave me a chance to really define what it is I did in my business. It forced me to examine the way I did things. And this made me a better real estate broker.

My writing strategy on Active Rain was very simple.

  1. Write about what I do and where I do it.

  2. Write for agents and consumers alike.

  3. Write consistently and post on the same days and at the same times.

  4. Write with sincerity and knowledge.

  5. Write informatively and entertainingly.

  6. Write opinionated articles to feed conversations.

  7. Write the way I talk.

That’s it. A simple plan but it worked. In my opinion creating great content is the best way to “attract” sellers and buyers who are ready to do business with you.

So I think my new plan is…………..go back to the old plan!!

Hey, look at this….I just wrote an article!! Now I just need to do it again and again and again.

I feel better now. Y'all have a good Memorial Day Weekend.

Hi Broker Bryant. I used to really enjoy reading your blog posts. I, too, left for a couple years and came back in January and many of my "old favorites" were no longer blogging. I am glad to see you back! Hope you have a great Sunday. -Kasey

Welcome back.  LOL when I read your title, my thought was "yes...or restart."  And, in many ways it applies to most/all of us.

While I have written fairly consistently, consistent is different based on your needs.  I was writing one epic article per month on my own website for years and it worked.  It really worked w/ over 120,000 pageviews per month and 1/3 of business.

Long story short, I've had to take a temporary 2 year hiatus from that business (non-compete agreement), so I've shifted things to monetizing my blog.  then, went to once per week and shifted some of the types of articles.  And, well then, life gets in the way (dad in hospital, website problems, head can't concentrate).  Now, I'm trying to get back...I've done 1 per week for 3 weeks and now I'm in the mode of write write write, do do do (for both me and my clients).  So, your reappearance is very timely for me and what I need to do.

Clearly Broker Bryant has gone to that big agency in they sky, and his younger, better-looking brother had taken up the mantle.

Hopefully TLW and Bertha don't find out that you're impersonating BB... TLW fires a mean shotgun.  And Bertha... well, don't get me started on her.  I hear she has a younger, better looking cousin, too.

Bryant: Welcome back! I have taken that same kind of sabbatical and found it nearly impossible to get back into the consistency of blogging regularly...I came back (after about 2 years) to AR and found everything still going strong with only a very few changes. The biggest difference? The quality of the posts--you may have noticed that too. As you know, the proven bloggers (above are a number of them!) remain and you can sift through all the lists and lists of properties and still find the high quality posts--that's what I do. They are all there with few I hope you do not find it as hard as I have to get back into the swing of things. Since you were so prolific before, I suspect that fountain of information is just waiting to burst forth again! Good luck and see you soon on AR!!!

WOW!!! Thanks, guys. I think all us oldtimers need to start blogging again. With my new company, we are sorting through about 30-40 seller leads a week. All from PPC and FB ads. It's made me realize how fortunate I was when I was writing and almost all of my business just called me ready to list. Now I have to weeds through cold leads to find business. It ain't

fun. Blogging is fun!!
